Job Summary:
Coaches individuals and groups regarding track and field activities; explains and demonstrates proper use of equipment; instructs athletes in proper track and field techniques; observes athletes to detect and correct mistakes; organizes and conducts competitive events.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Coaches athletes in track and field activities; instructs athletes in proper track and field form and techniques; observes athletes to detect and correct mistakes; provides feedback on performance. Coordinates track and field competitive events; organizes athletes and ensures attendance at events. Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints. Performs other functions as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of modern principles/practices of track and field program development and implementation; pertinent laws, codes and safety regulations; track and field competition rules and procedures; track and field techniques. Organizing track and field events. Must be able to work varied days and hours; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Must have, or the ability to obtain a valid class C TX D.L.
