Salary: $8.83 an hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates push mowers, weed eaters, edgers, etc. Mows and trims all areas maintained by the Parks Department. Assists in the planting of flower beds, and other related horticulture duties. Picks up trash, litter, and debris as required. Cleans restrooms and other facilities as required. Assists in ballfield preparation and maintenance. Loads and unloads trucks as required. Assist in all areas of ground maintenance as deemed necessary by the Parks supervisor.
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age. Must have a valid Texas Drivers License. Must be able to perform heavy lifting tasks; must be able to perform strenuous physical labor in extreme weather conditions. Must be able to pass a physical examination upon a conditional job offer of employment.
Functional Biomechanical Aspects of the Job:
Walking, pushing/pulling, lifting, carrying, bending, repetitive use of upper extremity - hand tools, other equipment; all aspects of lifting - loads up to 100 pounds; push/pull forces; carrying capacity up to 75 pounds; awkward positions; job requires constant moving; these are seasonal demands, but the functional requirements are the same; work is primarily outdoors.
